Lily and I took a short vacation by going for three days and two nights to Fawnskin, California, from Jan 24 to Jan 26 2014.  Fawnskin is in the Big Bear area just across the other side of the lake.

Here we start the trail called "Woodland Interpretive"

which is about 4 miles from our cabin

After a while Aleli gave indications of wanting to get down on foot.  Here she is drinking from the canteen.  We got these canteens from Victor two Xmas ago.

We started this hive at about 11:30.  The pace is not as fast as two adults only, but worth every moment.

I resized the poles so she can be more like the adults.  But she quickly demanded in no uncertain terms to redo them back to adult size!  Ahhh Aleli!

This pine cone is definitely a hit.  As you will see later she did not let go of it even in the most difficult moments.

 The most difficult moments!  Aleli is crying her heart out...Her howling heard across the valleys and mountains...Rumor has it that she was heard in Lake Arrowhead too...She was crying for mommy.  But mommy can not carry her in her arms, its tiring and actually risky in the trail.  Finally daddy released Aleli in the wild.  Her faithful acorn keep her company.
